Moynalvey’s O’Sullivan Lands Four Conversions In Irish Victory

Hugh O’Sullivan in action for Belvedere College.

Moynalvely man Hugh O’Sullivan was successful with four of his conversions in Ireland U-19s 50-31 win over Japan in Donnybrook at the weekend

The Belvedere college scrumhalf, who recently lead his school to Leinster Senior Cup glory, was busy with the boot as his team mates crossed over for eight tries.

O’Sullivan will be hoping to continue his progress through the International ranks and to one day follow in the footsteps of fellow Moynalvey man Devin Toner and star for the Irish senior team.

And as the Irish Daily Star reported last week; “There must be something in the water in Moynalvey”.

His older brother Cillian is currently a regular on Andy McEntee’s starting 15 for the Meath senior footballers, while fellow sibling Mark has represented his county in both football and hurling.

Blackhall & Moynalvey To Meet In Group Of Death

Neighbours Blackhall Gaels and Moynalvey have been drawn together in Group B of the newly sponsored ‘Fairyhouse Steel Meath SFC’ for 2017.

The two south Meath clubs will also face off against a quartet of high profile sides in defending champions Simonstown Gaels, Navan O’Mahonys, Seneschalstown and 2016 Intermediate winners St. Colmcilles.

The Kilcloon/Baterstown combination will play O’Mahonys in round one, while Darren Fay’s Moynalvey will face Seneschalstown.

Dates TBC.

In the Meath SHC draw Blackhall Gaels were also handed a tough draw in Group B where they will do battle with champions Kiltale, Kildalkey, Killyon, Boardsmill and Dunderry.

Cillian O’Sullivan will be important to Moynalvey’s chances of progression from Group B.
