Well done to the Meath Darts team who were crowned All Ireland champions for the first time ever, beating Donegal 7-0 in the final.
The tournament was held at the West County Hotel in Ennis last Saturday and Sunday. Meath won the quarter final 7-3 against Kilkenny before accounting for Wexford in the semis.
Kilcock’s Andrew Reilly (pictured front row, 1st from the right) was on the successful side, whose 7-0 final victory was also a first in the history of the competition. Reilly was Meath’s 12th man due in but wasn’t needed in the final due to the nature of the result. Reilly was needed in the last 16 against Galway, where he clinched victory for the Royals in 7-5 win.
Meath currently hold the youth, men’s A and men’s B All Ireland titles.
