Scoil Dara student Kerri Dowling from Kilcock claimed a gold medal for Bocce in her division at the area games in the Special Olympics at The National Show Centre in Swords in Wednesday evening, November 20th.
Kerri will now progress on to the regional games following her gold medal success.
Kerri is said to be absolutely thrilled with her victory according to mam Carmel.
Caoimhe McHugh from Clane Boxing Club won a silver medal at the Golden Gloves in Sweden on Sunday.
Caoimhe, who goes to Scoil Dara Kilcock and plays football for Cappagh, fought her way to the final in her age/weight catagory, winning her semi final on Saturday before just falling short of gold the next day.
Messages of congratulations have been flooding into the Clane Boxing Club’s Facebook page, including from the head coach of the club; “Some news from Sweden. Caoimhe is coming home with a silver she missed out today for the gold. Can I just say how proud as the head coach and all of clane boxing club we are of you well done champion” 👊👊👊

Former Kilcock Gaa minor football Captain Cormac Daly lines out at second row for the Ireland U20’s in their 6 Nations opener vs France tonight in Bordeaux.
Daly, who has represented his hometown club at underage and senior level, was the Captain of the victorious minor league winning team in2015, where his goal-scoring exploits earned him the nickname ‘Slam Dunk Daly.’
Kilcock Gaa were out in support of one of their own earlier this evening on Facebook and despite losing a promising young Gaa star to rugby, they are very proud of Cormac’s achievements to date; “Best of luck to Kilcock’s Cormac Daly who lines out at second row for the Ireland U20’s in their 6 Nations opener vs France this evening.”
