Meath Legend Graham Geraghty hospitalised with ‘serious illness’

Meath Gaa supporters woke up to the news this morning that their All-Ireland winning Captain from 1999 Graham Geraghty had been hospitalised with a serious illness on Tuesday night.

Geraghty, who js one of the most popular figures in Meath football circles and was the county’s last All-Ireland winning Captain at the end of the last century, is in hospital in Dublin.

The 47 year old is expected to have an operation in Beaumont hospital this morning.

Followers from both Meath and Kildare on our Facebook page were out in numbers this morning wishing him the speediest of recoveries.

The former Seneschalstown and Clann na nGael player was ill at work on Tuesday night and was brought to Navan hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he is expected to undergo an operation this morning.

Father of four Geraghty won two All-Ireland SFC titles with Meath along with two Allstar awards and three Leinster SFC crowns.

He also played for Ireland in the International Rules series between 1999 and 2006.Topics
