Summerhill based Sona Sasta provide a vital service to the local community all year round, a service greatly appreciated by all in the area. In the past couple of days the Hot Lunch Service has been extended to seven days a week.
A spokesperson for Sona Sasta spoke of the new extension; “Easter can be a difficult time when you are socially isolated. We are delighted to announce that from today (April 9th) the delivery of the daily hot lunch to our members will be extended to seven days a week.
We welcome and thank members of Summerhill Gaa and Parkceltic Summerhill FC, who will be helping with the hot lunch deliveries.
The volunteers dropping off the lunches will be happy to help our members in other ways, in particular with shopping, medication, fuel and water.
We would also like to wish our members and volunteers cocooning the very best this Easter and thank all the new volunteers who have stepped forward to help the older adults in our community during these trying times.
Keep safe and have a happy Easter”
The hot lunch is delivered daily between 12noon and 1pm and with the two clubs coming onboard to help with deliveries, everything has been running bang on time.
Well done to all involved ..
