Kilcock man joins the BBC

Kilcock man Aaron Stone has joined Kildare soccer club BBC United from Kilcock Celtic.

Stone, who was a successful number one under various managers in Kilcock over the past few seasons, joined the Broadford based club in the last week and began training with his new club last Tuesday.

Aaron is a nephew of Shane Stone, who Extra Time Sport reported last week had joined Cappagh Gaa. And the younger Stone is happy with the move and is looking forward to hopefully winning some silverware in the near future; “I started training with them last Tuesday, I know a lot of the players and the manager so I decided to make the switch back to Winter football. We are currently top of the league too and there is a real good bunch of lads there so hopefully there is some silverware on the horizon”

BBC United play in the Combined Counties league with clubs mainly coming from Offaly and Westmeath.

Aaron spent the last week in action of a different kind, as he played one of the badies in Kilcock Musical Drama Society’s production of Robin Hood. If his performances on the pitch are half as good as his portrayal of ‘Weasel’ over the weekend then BBC United will be pretty happy with their new man!
