There’s A Goose Loose About The House

Owned, trained and ridden by 3 Kilcock men, Western Goose was a popular winner around the North Kildare town this afternoon when the 10 year old mare stormed to victory in the 2m, 4f handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse.

The 16/1 shot, ridden by 7lb claimer Barry Browne, stalked the leaders before getting on terms 3 out and was travelling smoothest of all when she took the lead approaching the penultimate hurdle. After that it was a case of how far and when Browne said go, The Goose responded in kind, pulling clear on the run in to win by 5 lengths to Crack On Corrie in 2nd, with Like A Flash back in 3rd.

Lead in by Laura Ward, Browne and Western Goose were given a warm welcome party by members of the Cill Choca Syndicate and winning trainer Vincent Ward.
